How to increase your Blog traffic by 400 percent?

increase your blog traffic

Have you spent hours on writing a great piece of content for your Blog to get attention of people who are related to your niche and you haven’t got that success which you were expecting?

Are you still believing on that old phrase that quality content will generate traffic for your Blog automatically? If yes then you are wrong.

How can people reach your content when no one knows about it.

The problem is that online marketers have always told us to focus on quality content but not on sharing it which is probably the biggest mistake we do.

If you have something to show then reach out people and let them know about it,

This is what we call content marketing.

You need to promote it yourself, your content don’t have legs that it will reach out people itself. For links and traffic one must share it on every single place where he can.

Some people do share their content but the main problem is that people don’t share their content on right places. They will share it on those places where no one is interested to read it.

So today we will talk about a content promotion strategy which will help you to grow your Blog traffic by 400 percent in 30 days.

For this we have to engage with people on some social media platforms and niche related forums and websites.

BuzzBundle

I have write several times about BuzzBundle. It is one of my favourite tools to promote content. All I have to do is to write a few keywords/phrases and BuzzBundle will roll a search for me.

Thanks to Matthew Woodward who introduced this super fantastic tool to me.

It will find every single Social Engagement, Blog post, Forum topic and Q&A websites queries which are related to my typed keywords. Then I will engage with my audience directly by using 4 different BuzzFeeds.

  • Blogs
  • Social networks
  • Forums
  • Q&A sites

And one more addition to the table is Video Streaming Websites for the new versions.

Facebook Groups

Facebook is the number 1 social media website in terms of traffic. It has over 1.24 billion users world wide which makes it the largest Social platform for internet surfers.

Wecan find any type of people on Facebook who can be from any field. You can find engineers, students, Bloggers, SEO gurus or a company CEO on Facebook. All kind of people with different ages and different life styles are engaged with Facebook somehow.

So what could be a better idea to find people who are related to your niche to share your content? But the problem is that where we can find them? Obviously, we don’t know that where they live and what are their Social media account’s addresses.

So the best place to meet people who are related to your niche is a Facebook group which is related to your Blog niche.

Just join a few groups on Facebook, share your content with people around there and build relationships with them. Adding them into your friend list will be a good idea because whenever you will share something on your profile they will directly get a notification which can lead them to visit your Blog.

We will assume that you own a Blog which is related to Blogging, now we will search for Blogging related groups:

blogging groups

As you can see that Facebook will show you a ton of groups that can be related to your niche. Just join every single of them which you believe is useful for you.

Once you have got the admin approval to join the group, share your content with the Facebook audience and turn them yours.

Linkedin Groups

Linkedin is the most biggest social platform for online marketers and for people who are related to online money making somehow. With a thousand of users for every single niche related group, You will have the opportunity to drive some serious traffic to your Blog by just sharing your content there.

By Using Linkedin Groups you can do:

  • Targeted Content Promotion
  • Direct communication with Industry influencers
  • Relationship building with people who are related to your niche

So what you are waiting for? Just sign-up for Linkedin(if you don’t have done it already), build a good profile, join some groups that can be useful for you and share your content there.

You can start joining Linkedin groups by following the procedure as shown below in images:

Now search for your niche related Groups and join them one by one.

Google Plus Communities

Google Plus is a growing community with over 1.3 million registered accounts it has proven its value in the internet world.

But what makes it so special for us is that most of the online marketers who are related to different kind of niches emphasis more on Google Plus instead of others.

The best thing about Google Plus is that when someone will +1 your shared link, your link will earn a juicy do-follow link which is great for search engine rankings

You can read my article about how Google Plus and Youtube can help you to earn some quality backlinks

So what you will need to do is to join some Google+ Communities that is related to your Blog’s topic:

google plus communities

Search for some decent communities who have at-least more than 500 members and join them.

After joining them repeat the same process as we did with Facebook and Linkedin groups. (Share your content and try to build relationship with people around there)

Blogging Communities

Blogging Communities are a great source to meet bloggers from all around the world. You can find health bloggers, SEO consultants and many other bloggers from different niches.

Blogging communities will also help you to gather some quality do-follow backlinks for your Blog since they have very high Page ranks(PR 5 to PR 7). All you need to do is to share your article there and try to promote it as much as you can and ask people around there to like (up-vote) your content.

Once it will reach the main page of your community you will notice that your Blog’s traffic will increase rapidly. To monitor your traffic you can use Google Webmaster tools.

Now if you will ask me to recommend some good and popular blogging communities to you then I will ask you to read this article to get my top 5 recommended blogging communities.

But one of my favourite Blogging community is BlogEngage because they will directly get your content on top of their Home page whether it gets a ton of likes or not which means that you will earn a PR 4 backlink for your content by just pressing a button, as you can see below:

Twitter

One another good way to increase your blog traffic will be to engage with Twitter users. Just get your keywords noted in your diary, visit your twitter handle and search for related hashtags as shown below:

twitter hashtags

Try to engage with people around twitter who have made some tweets related to your keywords. Just reply to their tweets and let them know about your content.

Link Poaching

Thanks to Robbie Richards who let me knew of this great link building strategy. In link poaching you first need to analyze your competitor’s backlink profile.

For this we can use many tools including Majestic SEO, SEO SpyGlass, Backlink Watch, SmallSEOtools backlink checker, Open Site Explorer and many other different backlink profile checking tools but we will only focus on these tools that I have shared.

Just use any of these tools, type your competitor’s URL for which you want to compete and download all the backlinks data into your computer’s hard drive.

Now separate directory and forum links and email every single Blog owner to let him know about your piece of content where you will straightaway ask him to link your content from his website.

Head over to each site and try to find their email addresses. If you can’t find their email addresses then try to follow them on Twitter and engage with them directly.

Reach out to the webmasters with this template –

Hey NAME,

I just wanted to say that I  loved your blog. I actually came across a great post of yours today, POST NAME.

As always, great content really.

I noticed that you have linked to this article : POST NAME

I really like this resource, some very valuable content in there. In fact, it inspired me to write an updated version called ENTER YOUR POST NAME. You can check it out here: POST URL. Might be worth adding to your article.

Either way, keep up the great work!

Cheers,
YOUR NAME
A simple template to convince those webmasters to link back to your profile.

Forum Marketing

What you will do if you have some queries about any specific topic? Definitely, you will reach out a forum which is related to your topic and you will leave your question there. In result, people will come and reply to your query.

They can share some links with you to help you. If you will find them useful, you will visit them which will mean an increase in the shared website traffic.

Did you get it?

Use BoardReader, a search engine for forums to find questions on forums which are related to your content.

broadreaderType your keyword and search for relevant results.

Once you have found something where you can share you content, visit it and let people know about your content there.

Inbound

A great platform for bloggers to share their content. I recently found it and I was very amazed to see the results which I got from the shares I made on Inbound .org.

Yesterday, I got 150 visitors for just one article which I shared about a day ago.

I have just an ordinary profile with 46 Karma but the result was very surprising for me that even an ordinary new profile can generate that amount of traffic for a particular URL.

It could had been much better if a popular inbound member would had shared my content by his profile. So try to make a little acquaintance with famous people around there. Share their content, build relationship, follow them on Twitter and keep commenting on their blogs if they own one.

Try to show your existence to these popular influencers. A good way to do that will be to always mention them whenever you share their content on twitter.

Once you have build a solid relationship with them, give them a heads up everytime when you share your content. Try to introduce them and their work in your blog posts by linking to a few of their articles. This will increase the chances of them sharing your content on forums.

Skyscraper Technique

A new thing which is actually not that new but it is new for me because I just read about it a few days ago. This technique has worked great for me till now. Thanks to Brian Dean who introduced this great link building and content promotion technique to me.

This technique consist on three major steps:

  • First you need to search for proven content which has already get so much attraction from readers.
  • Then we will build a better piece of content than all others
  • And the final and the most important thing will be to search for our competitors backlink profiles where we will try to find high quality backlinks which they have gained. The next step will be to separate directory and forums links then we will reach out every single link which they are getting from relevant(niche related) blogs and websites. Then we will send them an email where we will let them know about our piece of content and we will directly ask them to link back to us. (The technique is same as link poaching).

You can read more about Skyscraper technique on the link which I have shared earlier.

SubReddits

Reddit has a ton of users who look for each other’s stuff. They will read each other’s posts, share their personal experiences with people and they will get (upvotes) if there share is worth attracting.

Reddit is actually a Social Media website which consist on different SubReddits, each Subreddit is related to some specific topics. For Example (Today I learned,TIL) is specifically a separate Subreddit where you can share your daily learnings with new people. It is probably one of the most popular SubReddits which has 7,709,950 learners.

So getting your post to the main stream of TIL will make sure that you will gain some good traffic from Reddit.

reddit shares

As you can see that a few ordinary posts have got more than 1200 upvotes for them which means that at-least a few thousand people have read this post.

So if you will share something special with the people around there then they will read and (upvote) your post which can lead your post to the main page of the SubReddit which will be a great opportunity for you to get some extra visitors to your Blog.

And if your post is decent enough to get itself featured on the front page of Reddit then believe me, Your Blog traffic will boost like a rocket.

All you need is a great amount of upvotes for your post and for that you need to share good and interesting piece of content with redditors. Once your post is on top of the main page your blog traffic will rise dramatically.

reddit homepage

5036 upvotes for the very first post, looks great right? This amount of upvotes means that at-least three to four thousand people have visited this page. It would be great if we can get our post or  our blog post (share) to the main page of Reddit.

Think if you can daily share some content on Reddit which can reach the front page of it then you will be able to generate a ton of traffic for your Blog. Even if you can get your post on the top page of the SubReddits then it will still do a fine job for you.

StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon will be one another great platform to share your content. People on StumbleUpon will stumble your page once it is shared with them and you will have some extra views for your content. Especially from America. (Sounds good for alexa ranking)

You can read my article about how to improve your blog’s alexa ranking by clicking here.

A good idea will be to build relationship with old people around there who have heavy profiles. By heavy profiles I mean profiles who have strong following.

Just follow that old trick(reach them on twitter, tag them whenever you share their articles and let them know about your content by taging them into your Tweets).

Like their shares on stumbleupon and ask them to share your content too.

You can use Viral Content Buzz to get your content shared those who have these heavy profiles.
