My personal link building strategy to get better rank in SERPs

Link building which is definitely not a new term for you guys. It has completely disappeared from the scene after Penguin update. People are very sensitive in making backlinks for their websites and in allowing backlinks from their own websites to other websites.

That is the reason why guest posting has gone forever from Blogging world. You can read Mr. Doc Sheldon story to have a better understanding of what I am saying.

No one wants to get penalized by Google or by their algorithms that is why not many are building backlinks to their blogs and they aren’t allowing links for other blogs from their blogs.

No one is posting about link building any more because they know that  anyone who has some knowledge about SEO and search engine ranking will not implement their trick to build links. And for people who are new to SEO are still applying these white, gray and black hat tricks because they don’t know that what changes have occurred in 2014.

Everyone is afraid of Google penalties thus link building market has crashed suddenly. And those so called SEO gurus who were always teaching the same thing in a newer way are not posting about link building any more. The scenario has completely changed and those SEO gurus are now offering their services to help people who have sustained a Google penalty.

Therefore the attention of webmasters have diverted from making backlinks to deleting low quality and poor backlinks.

And after the invention by Google which was actually just a tag, yes I am talking about rel=nofollow tag which was released by Google to help webmasters in guiding Search Engine Spiders.. What this rel=nofollow tag will do is that it will  stop Google spiders from crawling any link which is after this special tag. Nofollow means to not follow a link, It is actually a request by a website which it makes to Google spiders to not follow a specific link.

There is still a big difference between nofollow and dofollow backlinks but nofollow links still have some link juice which will help people to get good rankings in Google.

In today’s world every single website is using nofollow tags for every link which is going to other websites to prevent any penalty.

These nofollow links can be made easily on any Blog by just posting some comments on different blogs and make sure that you have left your blog’s link in your comment.

So how can we make backlinks that are safe and will bring our article or our page on top of SERPs when link building has disappeared from the scene?

So here is my personal link building strategy that is safe and will bring authority to your Blog.

All that stuff I have wrote till now was just to give a little know how to people who are new to this term what we call Link building

MY PERSONAL LINK BUILDING STRATEGY

Before reading my personal link building strategy you need to download two important tools that will help you in your whole Blogging life and especially in following my link building strategy.

The first tool is MozBar and the other one is SEO Quake

Targeting websites that are already leading the top SERPs for your Keyword

The title says all itself. You must first figure out that what keyword you are going to focus on and you must consider your keyword before start writing a post. Use your keyword several times in your post but do not over optimize your content. You can use many SEO plugins for that purpose. My personal recommendation is WordPress SEO by Yoast and SEO by Squirrly.

However Google has declared that keyword will not make any great effect on ranking of a website but this doesn’t mean that you should not use keywords in your title and content. You must use them in order to tell search engines and your readers that what is your article about. And Google will refer your post or article to the people who will search a keyword which will be similar to your article’s keyword. But again the backlink factors comes again. Google will features those articles and pages on top SERPs who have more backlinks.

So as I said use keyword in your title, content and meta description. Once your post is done. Copy your keyword and paste it on Google and press enter.

You will get 10 results for your search, open every single website, start from the first result and look for a chance to make a backlink there. If you have found a link building opportunity then make a link and make sure that your link looks natural. I mean Google should not be able to identify your intent of making that link.

However, if there is no chance for building a link. Leave that page and open up the next result and search for a link building opportunity there too. Do it with every single website which is present in the top search engine result page for your keyword. And implement my strategy on every single website.

Targeting links which are helping your competitors in getting high rank for your keyword

Here is the second and the most efficient way to build quality and safe backlinks for your Blog. This process of making backlinks is called Link Poaching where you follow your competitors links and try to build backlinks for your Blog or page from the places your competitor is getting links from.

To use this trick you must have MOZBAR installed in your browser. Moz Bar will tell you the domain authority of any website, it will also describe page authority of a blog.

MozBar will also tell you that how many links a page is getting from other websites which is the most important factor for our link building strategy.As you can see in the red square that MozBar is indicating that a page is getting 63 outbound links. All you need to do is to click on these 63 links and a new window will open which will show you all the domains and pages from which your visited page is getting links from as shown below. All you need to do is to click on linking domains in the menu.

Now click on those blue plus buttons and you will find pages from the linking domains which are linking to your competitor’s page. Visit those pages and try to find out the link opportunities there. Make a backlink by commenting or by doing anything you can do to make a backlink to your Blog.

You should also use SEO Quake to make sure that the page on which you are making a link for your Blog is a high authority page(PR 3 to PR 10).

After installing SEO Quake you will find a new SEO bar like this which will tell you the Page Rank and many other valuable details of the page you have visited.

We will use SEO bar to find out a page’s rank. Page rank displays the authority of a page, A page can be ranked from 0 to 10 and a link from PR 4 to PR 10 page will be great for your search engine ranking.

You must make sure that you are making your backlink on a high quality Page which should be at-least PR 3 page.

Avoid making links on low quality(PR0 to PR2) pages because they will hurt your search engine ranking instead of increasing it.

So the strategy is quite simple and easy to follow. I would like to wrap it up in some points.

• Keep checking your competitors backlinks by using MOZBar and many other tools like ahref.
• Try to make your own backlinks on those pages from where your competitors are getting links
• Make sure that the page on which you are building a link is a high quality page.
• Try to make your link look natural.
• Make at-least 20 to 40 backlinks for every specific page and you will be fine in SERPs
