8 Things that will ruin your Blogging career

5 Things that will ruin your Blogging career

8 mistakes that will destroy your Blogging career

There are thousands of Blogs some are accomplished, some are developing and some have already failed. Do you know why? Because some are doing the right work in a right way and some are doing a the right work in a wrong way. And some are even not doing the right work, LOL. And what right work they are not doing will be discussed in this post.

Choosing a wrong Domain Name

Before starting a Blog you should make many considerations, One of them is choosing a good domain name which is related to your niche and reflects your Blog’s topic.

Your domain name should look professional, many bloggers first choose a free blogspot or wordpress domain which doesn’t give a professional look to their blog and decrease their authority.

For authority you must choose an independent .com or other professional looking domains. But make sure that you choose a good looking and attracting name for your domain which will make your blog a brand. Facebook is a good example of what I am talking about.

Choosing a wrong Niche

Another mistake people do, They choose wrong niches which are sometimes very competitive because of the opportunity of making money in it and sometimes they choose niches which have no opportunity to make money.

The idea is to choose a less competitive and more developing niche because niches who have much competition will not be easy to get success and niches who have no opportunity to make money will not benefit you by any means except a little mingling with people who love what you are sharing.

In today’s world Andriod related niches have great opportunity but the competition is rising every day because the money is there again.

Be smart and accurate in choosing niches for your Blog

Not doing SEO for their Blogs

Whether your Blog is hosted on Blogger or WordPress you should make sure that you are using a good SEO plugin to balance the density of keywords and to avoid Google penalties. These SEO plugins help you to rank higher in Search Engines. However, hiring a personal SEO consultant for your Blog will be a good way to make sure your high ranking in SERPs.

People who are not using WordPress should read about SEO and they can also download Search Engine friendly themes for their websites from various platforms.

You can read my article to understand basic SEO.

Poor Web design

You should have a user friendly design for your Blog or Website. And you must not forget that the design must be Search Engine friendly too. There are many themes for WordPress and Blogger who are both user and Search Engine friendly.

I will recommend Genesis Framework for wordpress users. Blogger users can search for SEO friendly themes on Google.

Poor Content

Once you start getting traffic for your Blog and you are gaining some authority, the only thing which will ruin you and your Blog will be a poor/low quality content.

Many Bloggers do the same mistake, First they manage to get decent amount of traffic and once they have gained enough authority they just start publishing rubbish to engage their readers.

Yes, I know that many Professionals advice to publish articles daily but why people forget that they ask for quality too.

Remember Bill Gates?

Content is King!

It won’t harm you that much if you are not publishing daily but once you have start publishing rubbish your readers will be irritated and your ranking in SERPs will decrease. Make sure that in start of your career you are posting at-least 500 to 1000 words articles.

Read my article about some Basic SEO mistakes people do.

Not engaging with your Audience

Engaging with your audience will give them a feeling on honour. They will be very happy when they will find that you are personally taking up their problems and you are solving them.

But I have not seen many people who interact with their readers. I was reading some newly established Blogs and many other people were reading them too. Many had left their queries in comments but unfortunately the author of the post wasn’t replying them which was not the best way to deal with audience. Remember audience is the most important asset of a Blog

Stealing other people Content

Some new bloggers do this mistake very often, they just copy and paste content from other blogs to their blogs which is a crime itself indeed. Google has launch many algorithms to penalize such content thieves. But many people do this mistake unintentionally because they don’t even know that copying someone else’s content is a crime.

You can take references from other websites and Blogs but a pure copy paste scenario will be counted in terms of crime and content stealing which can cause you a Panda Penalty and if you are in reach of law. You can be prisoned for it. So first make sure that your content is original and you have your copyrights claims too to prevent anyone from stealing your content.

Making false claims and publishing wrong tricks

Be very sensitive in making a claim. Many Blogs do it to convince their audience to follow their guide but we have witnessed many people who were scammed by these false claims. Eventually, the filed a complain against the website or Blog which cause the suspension of the Website and imprisonment of the administrator.

Don’t take it as just a easy thing. Whenever you are telling your audience about some special trick or you are making a claim, you are responsible for it. If he or she or your audience get scammed or get harm from the trick, tip or advice which was given by you, you will be the ultimate responsible for it.

I was reading an article yesterday where a Blogger had shared his story that how he had to suffer 3 months imprisonment. In his story he told that he once shared a special program on his Blog which was claiming to convert 5000 bitcoins into 50000 but the claim was false and the program owner was a fraud thus he betrayed all of his customers and disappeared from the scene.

In the end, everyone had nothing to say expect mourning on their loss. But guys who were referred to the program by the blogger I am talking about came to his Blog and told him the story and asked him to recover their loss which was nearly impossible for him. Therefore, he had to face a Police complain which lead him from his home to jail.
